ELEMENTARY PROGRAMMING
We want kids to understand that they were created to have strong, lasting friendships with Jesus. Through Bible stories, fun activities, songs, dancing, prayer, and games, children learn and use important lessons from the Bible in their everyday lives. Our goal is for children to take ownership of their faith.
- We invite them to spend time with God in worship, prayer, and Bible reading.
- We teach them to love others, just as Jesus taught us.
- We encourage them to use their God-given gifts to impact others.
- We provide opportunities for them to see and share the way God is working in their lives everyday.
GROUP DIVISIONS
After our time of worship, we split our elementary students into smaller groups. Usually, we put the K-2nd graders together in one group and the 3rd-5th graders in another group. If the groups are very different in size, we will make changes to balance them out. For example, we might put K-1st in one group and 2nd-5th in the other group.
SPECIAL DAYS
Elementary students attend services with their families on occasions when we are celebrating something special. At these times, we do not have programming for elementary students.
- Baptism Sundays occur about three times a year. Families love participating in this gigantic celebration together.
- Christmas Eve Services allow families to come together to celebrate and make special memories.
MOVING UP
Students who are entering 6th grade "Upgrade" to The Middle. During the summer after 5th grade, they can be part of Student Ministry events while also taking part in Vacation Bible School (VBS). The last Sunday in July will be their final day in SCC Kids ministry.
The Middle meets on Wednesdays from 6:30-8:30 PM. Students also have an opportunity to attend the Disciples Path class on Sundays at 11:00 AM. For more information about Student Ministries, go to insidescc.org/middle or email Pastor Lee Willis at lee@shelbychurch.org.
