Conduct

It is in our conduct that we “go public” with who we are, or at least who we want people to think we are. Our wisdom, love, faith, and purity are forged on the inside and then expressed on the outside in what we do. This is where the rubber meets the road. The goal is for what we do to accurately reflect who we are on the inside. It is through what we do that we offer the world a clear or hazy picture of God. As we pray for them, pray that they would see how their conduct is telling about the spiritual condition of their heart. Pray that their conduct would be in sync with the Holy Spirit, and that they would listen to him.

Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.

Galatians 5:25

Example Prayer

Father, you have told us what is good and what you require of us. I pray that the __________ family would take your commands to heart and pursue them with reckless abandon. As they seek to live the way you’re calling them to live, empower them to do it humbly before you and humans. Allow them to be people of your Word, so they know what it looks like to live the way you call us to. For your glory and their good, in Jesus’ name, amen.
